About

Handstitched layers of cotton, linen, silk, and paper, naturally dyed fibers, and found materials are at the core of my artistic practice. Boundaries established by using what I have on hand feeds my creativity in unexpected ways.

My artistic practice revolves around the broad theme of “women’s work is never done” filtered through memories of women in my own family, what I learned from them, how their lives differed from my own, and finding connection through the domestic skills they passed down to me.

My work has been shown in numerous venues in Northern California. I hold a BFA from the California College of the Arts (formerly California College of Arts and Crafts) with concentrations in painting and printmaking. Recently, I transitioned to being in my studio full time after serving 25 years as manager of foundation and government grantmaking at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
